The District of Columbia Chapter of the National
Hook-up of Black Women, Inc., was organized on
December 9, 1977 at All Souls Unitarian Church in
Washington, D.C. as a communications network and community based group comprised of Black women from the Metropolitan Washington area.
The organization has remained committed to improving the quality of life conditions in the Black community in general and the status of Black
women, in particular.
