STRENGTHENING THE SISTERHOOD. As a charitable organization, the National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. (NHBW), affectionately called the "Hook-Up," owes its achievements to the hard work and dedication of its members and the generosity of supporters who give so willing to the work of the organization. The following are ways in which you may choose to support the vital work of NHBW. Patrons of the Hook-Up A community where women are well, infants are healthy, our youth are nurtured, and our families are whole. Do you share this, our vision? If so, there are many ways that you or your company can work with us to realize this vision...from event sponsorship or corporate team participation in those events to cause-related marketing of your products or services, or grant support of our programs. Become a partner on a specific project. Donations of all kinds are greatly appreciated. Depending on a contributing partner's interests and requests, contributions can be directed to specific program areas. Additionally, NHBW leverages both corporate and foundation funding by utilizing matching grants and in-kind donations of professional services to support major program activities. All donations made to NHBW are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. In-kind giving of services and technology. NHBW welcomes contributions in the form of expert services and equipment. These "in kind" donations are invaluable in allowing us to operate cost effectively. The professionals who advise and support NHBW are instrumental in improving the organization's communications, research, investigations, and technologies. NHBW also seeks new equipment for field and administrative use such as computers, printers, cameras, and video equipment. Volunteerism - Volunteer your expertise. All major NHBW programs require committed volunteers and interns with specialized skills. Our volunteer and intern selection is strictly limited by need, available space and qualifications. Projects requiring specialized skills vary. Internships require a minimum time commitment of 15 hours/week for two months. Interns will gain valuable experience working in an active environmental organization under the guidance of an NHBW member. Be a part of the solution. Partner with us today.
