The Nashville Chapter of the National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. was founded in 1978.  It was among the first three chapters formed.  The purpose of Nashville Chapter was to embrace the ideals of the National initiative on a local level, with a strong sense of sisterhood and commitment.

The Nashville Chapter is committed to “hooking up” with organizations who strive to empower minorities.  The Nashville Chapter has engaged in the following: legislative forums, voter’s registration drives, health fairs, grant writing workshops, supporting library programs, awarding scholarships, domestic violence education, providing supplies for the homeless, giving supplies to a housing facility for abuse victims, and equipping students with study materials.
