At the invitation of Dr. Rebecca Betts Butler, Dr Naomi Phoenix, Mrs. Pelipa Shreef and Mrs. Sarah Young, Mrs. Janice Plummer, Mrs. Doris Gaines [all national associate members] met for lunch at Dr Butler’s summer home in Whitesboro, New Jersey In November 1987. After several meetings and with the votes of all their friends who had joined, they decided to become chartered members of the National Hook Up Of Black Women Inc. Dr Rebecca Butler was the founding President and Dianne Hood at that time was 1st Vice President

 

Today under the leadership of the President, Laticia Bailey the Cherry Hill Area chapter continues to support the goals of Hook Up by presenting forums and other programs dedicated to improving the lives of the Black families through the support of the Arts, culture, literacy and health and Human services.
